It’s no secret that Ania Basak knows a thing or two about fashion. As the CEO and president of Fashion Calgary, the esteemed style expert is one of Alberta’s most influential women in the industry. She recently appeared on Global News Morning to present the latest trends in fall fashion. Her segment featured more than one lust-worthy look from Laura and Melanie Lyne.
Fall fashion is all about layering in style. The perfect cool-weather wardrobe includes bold prints, rich colours and luxurious fabrics, just like the ones Basak featured in her morning segment. The fashion maven demonstrated that she is not afraid to mix and match patterns and textures, as she presented modern looks with a classic edge.
Among the ensembles that Basak showcased were two complete outfits from Melanie Lyne, including her own attire for the show, and one look from Laura. Basak appeared in a chiffon blouse and jeans, layered under a stunning cashmere blend cape with a fox fur trim. For another Melanie Lyne ensemble, Basak combined a timeless plaid print with rich shades of burgundy. Her final look of the day – an outfit from Laura – was perhaps the most daring, as she mixed houndstooth patterns in varying colours with a bright mustard jacket.
